Granola Bars

Boy! This was easy and quick to make! And they were really good as well.

This recipe was adapted from the book Little Cooks, by Erin & Tatum Quon, but I found the recipe on the blog Cookbooks 365. It gives around 8-10 bars and takes 15 minutes to make, plus 15 minutes to rest.

Ingredients

200 g rolled oats
100 g almonds
100 g sunflower seeds
50 g dried raisins
100 g grated coconut
2 tbsp butter
100 g cane sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
50 g honey

Preparation

First you mix the rolled oats, almonds and sunflower seeds and bake them in the oven at 190ºC for 5-10 minutes.

In the mean time melt the butter in a pan and once it’s melted, add the sugar, vanilla extract and honey.

By now the oat mix should be ready, so you can mix it with the grated coconut and the dried raisins. And then add the butter mix and mix well.

Put it in a greased container. I chose a bread mold for example. Press it well until it’s very compact.

Now let it cool down for a while. Then turn it over and cut it into bars.

Store them in the fridge.

And booh yah! They’re already ready!
